About Cathy

Kitty Pidduck is the pen name of singer, children’s writer and early years music specialist, Cathy Clethero.

After attending writing courses and masterclasses at City University, Arvon and the London Book Fair, Cathy won a prize in the London Writers Competition with her short story for nine- to twelve-year-olds, The Indian Rope Trick, and an offer of mentoring from development agency, Spread The Word.

Regular music sessions in the Mother Goose Wildlife Garden inspired Cathy to create a collection of songs and stories about nature and wildlife. This has resulted in a musical animation series for four- to six-year-olds – currently in development with King Bee Animation – and an education pilot at Watermans Arts Centre.

Cathy has written songs, stories and screenplays for children from the ages of two to 12 and is represented by Screen Talent Agency.

She writes as Kitty Pidduck, the grandmother she never knew and after whom she is named.
